Well, this is one of the pieces I did for my college application portfolio, and at least some of these must have been good, since I got accepted.

Well, five classmates. It's ok.
I like the top two the best, with the one on the left the favorite, obviously indicated by the size the image, since I scanned them all separately.

I don't really like drawing other people, because I'm not that great at realism. I don't actually draw it the way I see it, because my brain doesn't translate it properly to my hand. So I get the feeling that people won't like it if I draw them, because it won't look like them/won't be something that shows their best parts, and they'll think that's how I see them. :P Most people are impressed that I draw this well, though...
Thus, I like to try to be ninja-like in my drawing of other people, drawing them without them noticing. Most of the time, I am noticed though...

Cool ^__^
I like 'em all pretty well. The shading is cool, I can never get that effect.. I like the jacket on the biggest girl. Heh I might be a bit obsessive about jackets 0.0 Anyways nice job!

Oh, thanks!
I liked that jacket too...it was blue and white, with a light teal color for accents...it looked comfy.

For shading, I do lots of parallel lines(hatching) lightly, then rub it to blend it with my finger, generally.
Then I clean up most of the extra smudging, where it seeps into areas that're lighter.
